SeaStryder’s revolutionary design may be operated as a class C ground effect craft according to the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) ruling on this type of craft. This classification allows operation in ground effect as well as at altitude, as it is designated foremost as an aircraft but has excellent water mode performance as well.
In flight mode, at a takeoff speed of approximately 86 mph indicated, the craft will be capable of flying in ground effect indefinitely under autopilot control and then climb to altitude at will.
Flying in ground-effect can save typically up to 40% in fuel burn, depending on safe flight height above the water determined by wave conditions.
When time is of the essence, SeaStryder can bypass traffic congestion to transport people and products along coastal regions and water routes.
